About

Raynish Yarn is an idea I came up with about 8 years ago.  It took a few years to perfect different variations of the idea, and another few years to write up a patent, which is now officially approved!

Pom-Pom Yarn:

This is the next generation of pom-pom yarn: You knit it up the same exact way you would knit any pom-pom yarn (see suggested Youtube tutorials below).  The only difference is that it creates a pre-designed image— on each side!

Nareya Split YarnSplit Yarn:

You knit this yarn as you would any regular yarn, except that you grab only one of the two strands that comprise each stitch.  I’ll post pictures soon which will make this easier to understand 🙂

Raynish Yarn is a different type of yarn than has ever been on the market.  When knit together, it creates a very specific design.  It will create whichever design its makers have chosen.  Each stitch is a unit; one stitch in a mosaic of stitches, one square in a mosaic of squares.  Each stitch that’s knit is like one tiny stroke of color on a canvas.

This is a step beyond self-striping yarns.  It is even a step beyond, or perhaps, an alternative to, fair isle knitting.  It has similarities to regular pom-pom yarn.  And yet, it’s its own, definitive genre of yarn.

I hope to partner with a yarn manufacturer some day who will create this yarn.
